The original Charlottetown Driving Park opened it doors for standardbred harness racing on October 2, 1889.
In August 2005, Prince Edward Island entered a new era in harness racing with the opening of a brand new $25 million facility called the Charlottetown Driving Park Entertainment Centre.
Charlottetown Driving Park Entertainment Centre is home to the prestigious Gold Cup & Saucer race held during Old Home Week in August.
Charlottetown Driving Park Entertainment Centre Slots
The Entertainment Centre offers 210 exciting slot machines, including all-time favourites like 5 Times Pay, Kenny Rogers, Blazing 7s, In the Money, Egyptian Quest, Triple It, Flame of Olympus and Arabian Night.

Harness Racing at Charlottetown Driving Park
Harness Racing PEI oversees the management of harness racing programs at the Charlottetown Driving Park Entertainment Centre including the live and simulcast racing product.
Live harness racing is usually held from May to January, with simulcast racing available daily on a year round basis. The track is a half-mile oval, featuring a safety lane configuration, which is much safer for horses and horsemen.
